The political and social economy of care in the Republic of China

A care diamond is a framework used to understand how care is produced and provided by the state, market, family and community. This paper describes the social policy regime in Korea and how it relates to the care diamond. It highlights findings from the time use survey analysis and discusses the political economy of policy change and considers the implications for gender.
