Description

In the summer of 2006, an uprising exploded in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. The phenomenon originated when thousands of teachers, housewives, indigenous communities, health workers, farmers, and students took over fourteen radio stations and one television station, using them to defend their grassroots struggle for social, cultural, and economic justice.
