This film portrays a year in the life of Caledonia Junior High School in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, which has had a problem with violence and disrespect among the students, who come from a variety of racial and economic backgrounds. A new principal and vice principal have been brought into the school to promote peace among the students and to deal with the violence and lack of discipline. The film chronicles their efforts.
