Author

Kerr, John; Pangare, Ganesh; Pangare, Vasudha Lokur

Description

This study is based on a survey of 86 villages in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra states. It evaluates the Green Revolution's relative success in raising agricultural productivity, improving natural resource management, and reducing poverty. Participatory projects fared better than "top-down" approaches. All projects faced difficulties in ensuring that people shared the benefits of watershed development.
